Ayumi Furukawa
Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1969. Has held many exhibits, primarily in Toyama but also throughout Japan.
Akiko Watanabe
Born in Mie Prefecture in 1974. Studied glass crafting in Nagoya and Toyama; Tegakari Artworks formed after she met Furukawa.

A Breakfast to Delight the Mind and Body

Born in Toyama Prefecture. After encountering theories of Yin and Yang and the five elements, herbal medicine and fermentation, became interested in the connection between food, the seasons and the body. After running La Natura restaurant, they now use a variety of methods to communicate the importance of food and the body.

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1969. Became an artist after working in a gallery, and now runs a gallery in Tokyo. While working as an artist himself, plans and presents a variety of exhibitions based on the principle that "Life should be fun."

Traditional Craftsman: Tetsuji Hashimoto, Hashimoto-ya
Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1954. Takaoka copperware colorist. Skillfully uses gold, silver and copper to make everything from elaborate traditional artwork to modern, high design tableware. Researches and develops original colors to suit various uses, creating a distinctive worldview.

Began designing gardens in 1997. Specializes in creating spaces that bring out the best of the plantings' seasonal changes. Offers complete planning of exteriors, gardens and gardening.

Born in 1983. Began working in ceramics after being drawn to the pottery of Keith Rathert. After exhibiting in solo and group shows, moved to Tateyamamachi in Toyama Prefecture. Hosts the Tateyama Craft craft fair.
